唐婧一 Tina Tang

Tina Tang was born in Beijing, China in 2004. She has studied theater and theology at Georgetown University from 2022-2023. Now, she studies studio arts at the School of the Art Institute Chicago. As an artist with a background across varied geographies, Tina Tang works in multimedia formats to intertwine themes of connectedness and change over time. Earlier in her installation series, she wanted to show the mental state of solitude by creating a connection between a character and a natural space. Now, this work foregrounds the development of a connection between the individual within a larger observation of the environment. The work has become driven by her scrutiny over physical elements. Currently, her main focus is the AIR and its characteristics. Her recent art takes the form in graphic design. She wants to show her observation of AIR and subjective feelings related to changes reflected in dynamics and the interactions between the internal feelings and the external world. The ethics of empty space have moved on to become more abstract yet rhythmic. Her work is reserved and non-invasive, utilizing metaphors to create a connection between the non-human object, the subject, and the viewer. In Instant as Constant, a graphic design work, Tina strives to create poetic space in graphic design and embody the characteristics of AIR and its changes over time, capturing the subtleness and the variety in textures. Across all of her work, Tina embraces the idea that AIR as changes is fluid and subtle, as is co-existence, regardless of mediums.

Instant as Constant 

Tina played around with the continuity and movement of AIR ingraphic design with its relation to the environment in which it breathes and dwells. In this project, she found her experimental playground in basic geometric shapes and then composed them into the work. She attempted to capture the changes in grey gradient with its dynamics in movement and space, reflecting the subtle yet dynamic characteristics of AIR and changes over time.
